Put your laptop on the hood of your car and enjoy a bit of nostalgia

SciFi.com, home of the Sci Fi Channel, has  a new feature available on their web site; the Sci Fi Drive-In. The Drive-In presents various B&W classic (and some not so classic) films for view. So what films can you view?  Classics you’ve probably never heard of such as:

LEGO Ambassador Cycle 5 Applications Open

Having served as a LEGO Ambassador for Cycles 2 & 3, I can tell you this is a GREAT gig. I miss it. Let me say that again, I miss it. Maybe someday when my life slows down I can give it another shot. For now I’ll leave that to the folks who are regularly [...]

Lest I forget…

Microsoft Windoze Vista was released today. And the crowd goes…”YAWN!” So just what does VISTA stand for? See image on the left. I know, I know, I’m a Mac fan boy. But in all honesty, I don’t have virus or spyware protection installed on my Mac or my Ubuntu box. No need, no threat, no [...]

Scanner Head

This spot occurs around 6:25am every Monday morning and requires me to wake way earlier than I [...]

Terminator versus RoboCop

This is the ultimate battle between robot and cyborg. A nice homage to two of my favorite 80s sci fi films. It is simply amazing what folks are doing with inexpensive and/or free digital video editing software.

Shark species, thought extinct, discovered

Reuters is reporting the following very interesting news item.
A rare frilled shark was captured alive by fishermen off the coast of Japan. The toothy eel-like creature was taken to Awashima Marine Park in Shizuoka where it later died. The 5-foot (1.6 meter) long shark was likely ill based upon the shallow waters it was swimming [...]
