EMI and Apple now provide non-DRM versions of music

This ain’t no April Fools joke folks. You can now download music from iTunes in a higher quality format and without Digital Rights Management. This means you can now use some of the music you have purchased from iTunes on any device as long as its for personal use. It’ll cost you 30 cents more, but that shouldn’t break your piggy bank. If you’ve purchased music in the past with DRM, you can also download unprotected, higher quality version for only 30 cents more. Since EMI doesn’t provide all the music found on the iTunes Store you probably won’t be able to upgrade all your music, but let’s hope that the other music providers follow suit. If you’ve never purchased music online, now is a good time to support EMI and Apple. Your dollars will prove to the music industry that copy protection protects nothing. Give us a good quality product for a good price and we’ll purchase it. Rock on!
