Fox 7 - Inspector Gadget Spot - TomTom Go 510

Steven shows off his new TomTom Go 510 GPS to Sarah Brownlee. The TomTom Go 510 is a portable navigational GPS system designed to assist drivers from getting to point A to point B using both visual (maps and arrows) and audio (narrated directions) cues. The TomTom Go 510 is the perfect addition to any travel plans and the first time you use it to “un-lost” yourself, you will find it well worth the $350 or so. Be sure to watch the video to learn how this device got us out of a serious traffic jam.

There are many other competing GPS devices and this post is not to suggest that the TomTom Go is the best. We like it and we like the features, but we have to admit, we bought this because we have a family member whose nickname is “TomTom.” Yeah…we know, we really shouldn’t purchase a product based on its name alone, but sometimes your heart gets in the way of major purchasing decisions. That’s happened to you…right?Do you own a GPS? If so, tell us about your experiences in the comments section. We would love to hear from you.

I purchased a Garmin (can’t think of the model number) unit that you connect to a laptop. The benefit of this is a larger screen and a much cheaper price of $150. The disadvantage of this is you must keep your laptop opened and it’s size, while a blessing for viewing and controlling the program, can be cumbersome.
