GUOM has Twitter
Ever wonder what the GUOM folks are up to? We do, so we’ve incorporated the GUOM Twitter into the GUOM site. Our latest Twitter post will appear on our left-side bar as shown in the image to the right of this post. See it? Just under our the GUOM search area. Click the link under the most recent post to be taken to the GUOM Twitter and see what’s been occupying our minutes recently.
If you aren’t familiar with Twitter, the site lets users update the status of what they are up to at any point in time by either posting directly to the Twitter web site, using an IM client (our preferred method), or using a mobile phone (charges apply!). The actual Twitter page is extremely Spartan and for good reason. It’s not a blog replacement, it is a totally new social networking site designed for one thing and one thing only – voyeurs.
We think the tool might have it’s uses beyond just feeding the “reality television generation”, but we’re not quite sure what they are yet. But you can’t judge a tool by it’s handle until you use it. So we’re using it. Don’t count on any personal information being posted. That’s just not us. But if we are working on a blog post, increasing our productivity, working on a gadget review, or just hanging out on the web, we’ll try and post some updates.
We’re not sure how much we’ll use it, but it’s what the kids are doing these days and we couldn’t let them get a one up on us. Take that kids! Do you Twitter? Become a Twitter friend and let us know how you are spending your minutes. Have a unique use for Twitter? Post a comment and let us know.

Twitter is already proving itself extremely useful as a news commentary, “I am right there and this is what I see happening” type of thing. For example, the recent Mexican earthquake was ‘Twittered’ almost from the first vibration. I foresee it as a kind of eyewitness news extraordinaire.
