GUOM Quick Tip: Enhance your Safari searches with Inquisitor 3

Inquisitor 3 Safari InterfaceWe’ve begun using Safari again lately and one of the tools that brought us back was the wonderful Inquisitor 3. Inquisitor 3 claims to be “Spotlight for the web” and we tend to agree. Simply download the installation file, restart Safari and begin searching using the Safari search box. Inquisitor 3 will auto-complete your search query and then provide a drop-down list of possible matches. See a possible match? Use the arrow keys to move down, make a selection and press return to be whisked away to the site with nary a visit to a search page.

The installation will also install a preference pane within Safari (see figure below). Within the preference pane you can specify how auto-complete operates, whether or not to display results instantaneously, how many results and keywords to display, the source of the search and the ability to add additional search engines if the defaults are not your favorites. It looks good, works well and is one of our favorite free Mac utilities.
