LEGO to release Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon
To help Lucas Films celebrate the upcoming 30th Anniversary of the first Star Wars film, you know, episode IV from 1977, LEGO is releasing the Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon. With over 5100 LEGO elements, this is the largest LEGO model ever and it will set you back a pretty penny - $499 USD! The item number is 10179 and it is recommended for ages 16 and up. The age requirement is most likely due to the complexity of the model and the time that will be required to put this monster together. The true genius feature of the model is that it is built at true
mini-fig scale, meaning you can take those little LEGO mini-figs from other Star Wars sets and place them within this model. Good luck hoisting this thing in the air and zooming it around the room.

I imagine they need pre-orders to ensure availability and to ensure that there is an actual market for the product. There is a limit of five per customer. The only person who can afford five of these would be George Lucas himself, who I have on good authority loves the LEGO.
