Mac Productivity: The big introduction

logo50x50We’ve not done such a good job of living up to our title of Give Us One Minute. Sure we’ve provided some interesting news from around the web that you can digest in a minute or so, but it seems all of our original content has been lengthy and not in sync with our over arcing theme. Today we start a new series of posts that will correct this error by:

  • shortening our post so that our readers can digest our content in under a minute or so per day.
  • learning more about our Mac and the time saving features built into the operating system.
  • learning about software that can enhance our Mac experience.
  • sharing with our readers some Mac tips we use to become more productive.

We want to preface this series by stating a couple of things up front to put our content and opinions in context:

  • If you are a hardcore Mac user, these tips will probably seem pretty rudimentary.
  • If you are new to the Mac, we think you will find some real nuggets of information from our couple of years of experience with OS X.
  • If you are Windows user, sorry, we don’t do Windows (real or computer); however, we encourage our Windows users to share their alternative solutions in our comments area.
  • If you are a Linux user, see above. We must admit though, we do tend to dabble in Ubuntu from time-to-time. Now where did we put that Feisty Fawn Live CD?
  • We’re cheap and we can’t help it, so the good news is that in many cases the software we recommend in our upcoming posts will be free. We’ve already dropped a significant bundle on our computers, so why spend more cash on software when there is a wealth of free and/or shareware software that will meet the majority of our needs?
  • We are pulling the content from our Mac experiences, your mileage may vary.
  • We too struggle with being more productive, just ask our friends and family.
  • The price of eggs in China dropped today.
  • And most importantly, and this is a biggie, we are not productivity experts - if you want an expert, check out 43folders or read the book Getting Things Done by David Allen.

So there you have it, in an effort ourselves to become more productive in life and work using our Macs, we are going to let our readers take a ride in the rumble seat as we travel down the bumpy road toward productivityville. Come back tomorrow for the first post in our series entitled Different keystrokes for different keyfolks.
