Put your laptop on the hood of your car and enjoy a bit of nostalgia
SciFi.com, home of the Sci Fi Channel, has a new feature available on their web site; the Sci Fi Drive-In. The Drive-In presents various B&W classic (and some not so classic) films for view. So what films can you view? Classics you’ve probably never heard of such as:
- Killers from Space
- The Snow Creature
- Attack of the Giant Leeches
- The Killer Shrews
- The Incredible Petrified World
Some classics you may have heard of:
- 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (The non-Disney version. Did you know there was one?)
- The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (actually a very interesting film, try this one first.)
and finally the silent classic:
- Metropolis (a must view for any respectable Sci Fi fan).
Most of these films are in the public domain and probably cost nothing for Sci Fi to host other than the bandwidth. It’s a great marketing ploy and yet another way to bring Sci Fi fans to their web site to learn more about their original programming. Yet one more way you can waste your time at work (just kidding boss).

Check out the online Sci Fi Drive-In.
